Definitely Superior Art Gallery is featuring two shows with dynamic new visual art that are sure to stimulate your senses and spark your creativity. Both run until December 19.

Sensibilia (that which can be sensed/stimuli): the theme for DefSup’s 27th Annual Regional Juried Exhibition (open/regional/call for entry format). Featuring art by 25 individual, eclectic, and diverse contemporary artists selected from the region, in the only annual professional/paid, juried format exhibition in Northwestern Ontario.

Quentin Maki – Kurrents: a solo exhibition of new contemporary large-scale paintings, by Thunder Bay-based artist Quentin Maki (MFA/sessional lecturer-Visual Arts, Lakehead University). These detail-rich painting compositions, using mixed media and fractured collage elements inspired by the ever-changing country landscape, not meant to directly reflect the source of the work, but serve as a tangible outcome of their presence.

For more information about these shows, visit the gallery’s website or Facebook page.

DefSup is located at 250 Park Avenue, lower level. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 12-6pm.
