The Thunder Bay Art Gallery is pleased to recognize the wonderful job done by city and area secondary school art teachers with the staging of the annual student art exhibition. This year, eight schools are participating: Ecole secondaire catholique de la Vérendrye, Hammarskjold High School, Marathon High School, Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate & Vocational Institute, Superior Collegiate & Vocational Institute, St. Ignatius High School, St. Patrick High School, and Westgate Collegiate & Vocational Institute. A small sample from this year’s showcase is posted below – visit the gallery to view the varied, impressive and inspiring works of tomorrow’s artists.

Over the 30 years these exhibitions have been staged, approximately 7500 works of art created by approximately 7000 students have shown in the Thunder Bay Art Gallery.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday, May 28 at 7:30 pm. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Thanks to the community-minded spirit of the Baggage Building Arts Centre and the Painted Turtle Art Shop for helping to make this possible through their sponsorship.
