On Friday, March 22, Dilico Children’s Foundation, in partnership with the Thunder Bay Community Foundation, is hosting a fundraiser – Raising Spirit: A Night of Live Entertainment. The evening will feature fantastic live music, four grand prizes, raffle draws, beef on a bun, refreshments and a cash bar. Shy-Anne Hovorka, award-winning country songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performer will headline the event, along with The Red Men, a country rock band originally from Sioux Lookout. Master of Ceremonies, Ron Kanutski, one of Northwestern Ontario’s funniest people, will keep things rolling.

“The name of the fundraiser, Raising Spirit, is inspired by Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief, Patrick Madahbee’s reference that likened the bringing up of children to raising little spirits.” said Micheal Hardy, Dilico Anishinabek Family Care’s Executive Director and member of the performing band, The Red Men. “This important fundraiser will help to improve the well-being of children so that they have the opportunities to fulfil their potential.”

The event will take place at the Victoria Inn, doors open at 7:30 pm, and the music begins at 8 pm. Tickets are $20 and available at K&A Variety (10-684 City Road), all RBC locations, the Victoria Inn (555 West Arthur Street) and at the door. Age of majority is required.
