This duo from Winnipeg played the Apollo for the second time on September 3, on their way home from touring east. The mysteriously named Cannon Bros. are the young Cole Woods and Alannah Walker, and their low key presence hides a tight thrashing unit. Switching guitar and drum seats, they played from their 6 song self-titled EP, other originals, and a Pavement cover.  The playing was tight and fast, they sang really well together, and their songwriting was refreshingly interesting. The show was excellent as they matter of factly burned through their set.  This is a band to watch. The local group Shadow Box also played the Apollo Stage that night.  Their ability to put on a show, a given with dynamic (he stood on his head!) frontman and songwriter Connor Albanese, is developing steadily, and fans who wanted to dance only wished the songs were longer.

These plants might look pretty, but they are all invasive species that spread rapidly and choke out native plants. You can help curb the spread by reporting sightings (or suspected signtings - better safe than sorry!) to @invasivespeciescentre
