Consortium Aurora Borealis kicks off its 34th season with “Quintets! Beethoven and Friends”, a concert of exquisite music for woodwind quintet and piano in the tradition of our popular Chamber Music Salons. Come and enjoy the beautiful sounds of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn and piano as played by friends Doris Dungan, Colleen Kennedy, E-Chen Hsu, Karine Breton, Damian Rivers-Moore, and Heather Morrison. The music was written within the 25 year time period of 1796 to 1821 by Beethoven, his teacher Albrechtsberger, and his contemporaries Danzi and Reicha. The concert takes place on Saturday, September 29 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Paul`s United Church, 349 Waverley Street, Thunder Bay. Handicapped-accessible (elevator). Admission: $15 adults, $10 seniors and students, at the door. Pre-concert talk at 7:30 p.m. by Lise Vaugeois. We especially welcome band students! Catch the excitement!
