Prince Arthur’s Landing with the natural backdrop of the Sleeping Giant on the Great Lake Superior, and showcasing the City’s largest collection of Public Art provides the perfect setting for the 2nd annual Waterfront Art Sale at the award winning Baggage Building Art Centre. Despite a cold rainy day last year over 400 people attended the Premiere Sale in our City of Festivals. Individuals made purchases for their personal adornment, that of their home or garden, and one of a kind gifts for special occasions. Visitors took presents home made by our local artists to destinations as far away as Australia and Turkey. This year twenty artists and artisans with extensive experience in their media working in a variety of materials in the contemporary arts and fine crafts will participate in the show and offer their work for sale to the public. All work is original and includes paintings. drawings, prints, sculpture, woodworking, jewellery, hand-made
books, graphic comics, ceramic art, pottery, baskets, and photography.
The second annual Waterfront Art Sale will take place at the Baggage Building Art Centre at the “Landing” on Saturday June 14, from 10 – 5. The public is invited to come down, and join in the celebration of the second anniversary of the opening of the BBAC. Admission is free.
This is a great opportunity to meet the makers and treat yourself to something unique for you, your home or garden, or buy a gift for an upcoming special occasion: birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation.
