The 10th annual Neebing Fire/Rescue Association (NFRA) Tailgate Sale is coming up on Saturday, June 20th from 10 am – 2 pm at 4766 Hwy 61. Members of the community and surrounding area are invited to celebrate the accomplishments of these dedicated volunteers.

In 2015, NFRA was one of the recipients of June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Volunteerism. This recognition comes from their dogged determination to provide funds for much needed fire and rescue equipment for Neebing Emergency Services and their diverse fundraising efforts which continue throughout the year.

This year’s tailgate sale features a new event—The Lumberjack Contest—where contestants 18+ will be timed through a circuit of four woodcraft skills: piling, splitting, nailing and sawing. The best times for this completed circuit will result in prizes for both female and male participants. This event starts at 11am and registration is $5 onsite. Safety apparel should be worn. Tools will be provided.

The event also includes tailgate yard sales, vendors, information booths, a penny auction, bake sale, BBQ hosted by Steve Zappitelli from Investors Group, chainsaw art sculpture demonstration by Lee Fedorchuk and fire safety demonstrations. The event will end with a draw for 10 bush cords of split birch firewood. Tickets for this draw, which is sponsored by Chaschuk Enterprises and Ray Johnson, will be available at Neebing Municipal Office at 4766 Hwy 61 for $5 each or 3/$10.00 (note that a limited number of tickets are available).
