Dough Bagel Co Rolls into PA

Port Arthurians, rejoice: Dough Bagel Co has brought the city’s favourite bagels closer to the waterfront, opening a second location inside Goods & Co. last month.

The Goods & Co. location features a selection of some of their most popular bagel and cream flavours, pizza bagels, bagel dogs, and prepared lunch sandwiches, along with fresh bagels and cream cheese available for bulk purchase.

Owner Jessica Stolz says people had been asking regularly at Dough Bagel’s southside location if she would open a second shop on the north side of town. She was initially hesitant to take on the running of two full shops, but when a space opened at Goods & Co. she decided it was the right time to try out a satellite location. It was a busy, eventful opening on July 8, and she credits the support of her team, family and friends for their success.

“I am feeling extremely grateful to be here and feel blessed for this opportunity. I have a pretty small team full of amazing workers who have stepped up and taken on the extra work to help me achieve this amazing goal,” she says.

Stolz opened Dough Bagel Co in Westfort in 2022, working with recipes rooted in the original Bagel Store classics (that beloved staple of Intercity Shopping Centre) but with a fresh twist. Since then, the shop has steadily grown and expanded their offerings. Every morning they bake their bagels from scratch, without preservatives or additives, and craft their cream cheese flavours in-house. There is no question why they are consistently voted Thunder Bay’s best bagel; on any given Wednesday, you’ll find a lineup out the door for their baker’s dozen special and their simple, delicious eats.

Catching up with Stolz after their first few days at the new location, she says the feedback from customers has been really positive. “I just want to thank everyone who has supported Dough Bagel Co over the last three and a half years,” she says. “The love for our product is absolutely amazing and gives us the opportunities like this to expand. We love how much people love our product and we put our heart and soul into everything that we do at the shop. We can’t wait to continue on this crazy adventure.”
