Yesterday was a special day here on Turtle Island: National Indigenous Peoples Day. Locally, this important annual occasion was honoured at the National Indigenous Peoples Day Pow Wow and community event with a sunrise ceremony, spectacular pow wow, delicious food vendors, local crafters and artisans, and a community feast on Anemki Wajiw at the Pow Wow Grounds (also known as Mount McKay). This day was a true celebration of Indigenous art, culture, heritage, and resilience.
