TAMARACK WIND QUINTET IN CONCERT

This fine ensemble, made up of the Section wind players of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, will enchant with a specially-curated programme of colourful, dynamic sounds in a variety of moods. The music is virtuosic, emotional, and incorporates a diverse array of musical styles and influences. It includes Samuel Barber's ‘Summer Music’, which has become a staple of the wind quintet repertoire. The ensemble has been performing in Thunder Bay and throughout Northwestern Ontario for the past two decades, appearing on local concert series, self-presenting a number of projects backed by grants, as well as performing education and outreach concerts for countless classrooms around the region. Its members are Heather Kilborn (flute), Gwen Buttemer (oboe), E-Chen Hsu (clarinet), Aviner Hartwick (bassoon), and Damian Rivers-Moore (horn).
There will be a ballot draw at intermission for a special prize.
The concert is generously sponsored by Lynn Barber.
