CONSORTIUM AURORA BOREALIS CONCERT SAT. JAN. 9, 2027
Sublime String Sextets
Join us for an evening of exquisite chamber music by Brahms and Boccherini. For a richer, fuller sound, we add an extra viola and a second cello to the standard string quartet ensemble. String Sextet No. 1 in B flat, Op. 18 by Romantic-era Johannes Brahms stuns with its lush texture. Prolific Classic-period composer and virtuoso cellist Luigi Boccherini provided his string sextets with highly demanding cello parts. William Sirois, James Moat, violin; Patrick Horn, Geena Salway, viola; Peter Cosbey, Kay Chen, cello
There will be a ballot draw at intermission for a pair of tickets to the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra Masterworks Series wonderful concert of music by Mozart and Mendelssohn, Friday, January 29, 2027!
