The nominees have been announced for the 2012 Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards (NOMFA) and Thunder Bay has a strong showing yet again this year with seven of the 30 nominees hailing from the city.

Nominees in the film categories include Heather K. Dahlstrom for her film “Dave Vs. Death” in the Film of the Year Category, Piotr Skowronski for Jean-Paul De Roover’s “You” in the Film Editor of the Year category and Brad Stephenson for his screenplay “After the Fire” in the Screenwriter of the Year category.

The final two nominees are nominated in the Cinematographer of the Year category. Dave Clement for his film “Return to Manomin” and Damien Gilbert for Wax Philosophic’s “Devil in a Red Dress”.

Thunder Bay also has two local nominees in the music categories. Jean-Paul De Roover is up for an award for his song “Fix” in the Vocal Performance of the Year category and for his work on the album “Pitch Pipes” by Jean-Paul De Roover in the Engineer of the Year Award category.
