Fast, affordable, and delicious. These are the principles that The Galley follows—similar to the Black Pirates Pub, where the new restaurant is located. “I always wanted to have delicious late night food to complement our live music,” says Onur Altinbilek, owner of Black Pirates Pub and The Galley.
The restaurant, aptly named after the kitchen of a ship, serves pulled pork sandwiches, chicken parmesan sandwiches, chicken or pork tacos, oven-toasted meatball submarines, oven-baked nachos with bacon, as well as Caesar and Asian garden salads. “The menu was designed to please. All the items are really quick to prepare and delicious,” says Altinbilek. “I basically asked some of our most frequent customers what they wanted and tweaked some of the most popular ideas.”
A few things make the new restaurant unique, according to the owner, notably because they are offering late night food (until 2 am every night Thursday to Sunday) and that the menu items are fairly priced. So far Altinbilek says the feedback they have received from the public has been positive, with the pulled pork sandwich being the most popular item. “The food speaks for itself,” he says. “People are loving it.”
As for the future, Altinbilek plans to introduce features on different nights. But for now he says people are happy with what The Galley offers. So next time you’re catching a show at Black Pirates Pub, grab some late night pub grub.
The Galley is located in Black Pirates Pub at 215 Red River Rd #101. For more information find them on Facebook.
