Red River just got a little more flavourful. Jamie Baratta and brother Dillon Baratta are happy to announce they have partnered with Keith Buna to open a second, larger location for their Mexican restaurant Norteños Taqueria. Roughly translated to mean “northern taco shop,” Norteños has become a staple in Westfort since their opening in 2020, and locals will be happy to see the location of the iconic Apollo bar will be put to good use as Norteños expands their business. The new location promises to be more than just a restaurant, as Jamie and Dillon plan to host live entertainment, Latin dance groups, salsa nights, and possibly karaoke. They will offer typical bottled beer, craft beer on tap, and cocktails, with a goal to have something for everyone. While the kitchen renovations will not be complete for another month or so, the location is hosting a pre-opening bar night on Cinco De Mayo, May 5th, with live music provided by Thunder Gun, and will be offering drinks and bar snacks. Can’t wait to try their signature birria tacos and incredible taquitos? The Westfort location is in full operation and ready to take your order.
