2011 saw the return of Men Without Hats with their Dance If You Want Tour that brought their iconic hits The Safety Dance and Pop Goes The World across Canada for the first time in 2 decades. Now, with the release of their latest album Love In The Age Of War under their belts, the Victoria-based new-wave group is ready to road test their new songs, and get audiences moving! Kicking off on October 24th in Vancouver, BC, the band will head out on a 15-date tour that will take them across the country (details below).
Love In The Age Of War (released May 22 on Big Fat Truck) is the group’s first album in almost 10 years, and features 10 original songs written by Ivan Doroschuk, including the super catchy first single Head Above Water. Produced by Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Marilyn Manson), the album features Ivan (voice & electronics), his brother Colin Doroschuk (vocals) as well as Lou Dawson (vocals & live keyboards) and James Love (guitars). The group has been busy putting together an exciting stage show to share with their fans this fall.
The 1980’s group led by original member Ivan Doroschuk reformed in 2010 to perform at Rifflandia and then blew the socks off of their Club Deville SXSW showcase in March 2011, earning rave reviews. In April 2011 they announced their Canadian tour, which was well received by fans and new audiences across the country.
Be ready to get up and dance, because Men Without Hats will get you moving this fall!
