The fundraising and volunteer efforts to help those affected by last week’s food have been an amazing indication of the strength of our community. Several non-profit organizations have stepped in to help; here are a few ideas for people who would like to contribute to the relief effort.
The Emergency Operations Control Group has setup a dedicated phone line (98 FLOOD, 983-5663) and email address (flood@thunderbay.ca) to handle requests from residents who need help or from those, including businesses, who would like to help.
CAM Clothing Assistance is helping those in need of clothing and linens. Individuals or businesses interested in contributing products or services are asked to stop by with a business card. CAM Clothing Assistance is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm and they are located at 404 May St. N.
