Earlier in January, Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. kicked off their fifth annual Craft Cares campaign. From January 1 – February 28, 2023, for every Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. product sold at participating licensee locations, the brewery will donate $0.50 to local charities and organizations.

“Now there’s a way your beer can benefit the entire community. Sleeping Giant Brewing Company thinks that being a part of Thunder Bay is pretty awesome, so we want to give back and contribute to the fine organizations and charities that make the North a better place to live. We want to show you that Craft Cares,” says brewery co-owner, Andrea Mulligan.

Licensees are establishments that serve Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. beer, such as bars, restaurants, curling clubs, golf courses, etc. Each participating licensee was given the opportunity to participate in Craft Cares by signing up and selecting a local charity of their choice. At a wrap-up event in March, Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. will announce the total funding raised through Craft Cares and the charities and organizations that will benefit from the initiative.

“At SGBC, we love living and working in Thunder Bay and we want to continue to give back to the community that has given us so much support, especially throughout the pandemic,” says Maureen Mills, sales manager. “Craft Cares is our way of helping all of our licensees make a positive impact with the charities and organizations that they care about, giving back one beer at a time.”

Since 2018, the Craft Cares campaign has raised $48,716 for over 100 charities and organizations.
