Feed the Giant Returns

Start working up an appetite because Feed the Giant will return this Thursday September 14 hosted by the team over at Lakehead Beer Company. For those who may be unfamiliar with the event, Feed the Giant is a pre-party fundraiser held in support of Wake the Giant. Feed the Giant is organized by Thunder Bay-born chef Hayden Johnston (of Chopped Canada and Top Chef Canada), who felt compelled to contribute to Wake the Giant’s cause the best way he knows how: an evening of delicious food and good company. This September’s Feed the Giant will mark Johnston’s third year organizing the event, and all proceeds from this year’s iteration will go towards the design and construction of a residence for students at Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School.
“We believe this is going to be the best version of Feed the Giant we’ve done yet,” Johnston says in a media release. Attendees can expect a flavourful evening with a selection of food and drink from celebrated vendors, including pizza from Tomlin Subdivision, barbecue from Naagan by Zach Keeshig, fare from Johnston’s Richmond Station, gelato from Prime Gelato, and, of course, refreshing beer courtesy of the hosts at Lakehead Beer Company.
Attendees can also expect beautiful sights and sounds. This year’s Feed the Giant will feature an exclusive exhibit by renowned artist Tim Tait. Musical performances can be expected from celebrated self-taught pianist and Dennis Franklin Cromarty alumnus Malachi Beardy, as well as powerful singer-songwriter Jamie Sky. In addition to all of this, Nick Sherman promises an engaging and lively atmosphere as emcee for this year’s fundraiser.
Feed the Giant will be an unforgettable night of fun, food, and entertainment to help provide a safe environment for students from remote communities attending Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School.
