Big Brothers Big Sisters of Thunder Bay (BBBS) needs your support. On Friday, January 22, Whitewater Golf Club will present an evening with Mellow Dee in support of the organization. The fun-filled evening kicks off with cocktails at 6:30 pm. Whitewater’s renowned chef Bob Mathieson will be serving up a delicious six course meal for guests. A silent auction will help to round out the night, with 100% of proceeds going to BBBS of Thunder Bay. Finally, to finish the evening, the auction will be followed by the soothing sounds of Toronto jazz crooner, Mellow Dee.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Mellow Dee (Dwight Roan Grant) has been performing since the age of five. His ability to play piano and sing is always a crowd pleaser. He blends jazz, gospel, and soul music into one awesome sound. Some compare his soulful vocals to the likes of John Legend and Jamie Foxx.
BBBS of Thunder Bay has been creating friendships since 1970. The organization started out by matching Big Brothers with Little Brothers, and over the years has grown to include a variety of different programs that serve both boys and girls.
Tickets are $80 and available at Whitewater Golf Club and the Big Brothers Big Sisters office on 559 South Syndicate Avenue on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited tickets are available and this event will almost certainly sell out, so get your tickets early! For more information, contact Deanne at 475-4653.
