Last night, the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of their 23rd  Annual Business Excellence Awards. The sold-out gala event was proudly presented by Bell Canada and held at the Valhalla Inn. The Walleye was honoured to win two awards: the Quality of Life Award and the GameChanger Award.

The Chamber of Commerce describes a “GameChanger” as “an individual or organization who introduces new offerings, breakthrough solutions or a revolutionary approach to enhance our lives and challenge the status quo. Through their collaborative efforts they inspire Thunder Bay leaders and businesses to think differently about how they serve their clients, employees and community.”

“Seven years ago we launched The Walleye on corner of Bay and Algoma…the business community, before even seeing the product, supported us. We had ads from day one—we are super thankful. We started off with 32 pages and now average between 80 and 100—thank you, Thunder Bay,” said senior editor, Tiffany Jarva who is a founding member of The Walleye team.

Congratulations to all nominees and winners!
