First Aid Kit is Sweden’s latest pop music export. The singing sisters Johanna and Klara Soderberg have just released their third album, Stay Gold. The songs are an ethereal mix of folk and country with an indie attitude. The duo is well known in Europe and now has a legion of fans in North America after performing at numerous music festivals this year. Their claim to fame is rich harmonies, and the sisters get to show off their vocal range on Stay Gold. This album has a much fuller sound than previous recordings. There is still a country feel with acoustic and steel guitars but they have added some strings and horns. Standout tracks include “My Silver Lining” and “Cedar Lane”—both do a good job showcasing the sisters’ harmonies. Stay Gold is a solid effort from a young Swedish duo.
