The Northwoods Fiber Guild is pleased to announce an exhibition of fiber works entitled, “Through Our Hands IV.”  The exhibit will open at the Johnson Heritage Post gallery in downtown Grand Marais, MN on June 26 and run through July 19.

The show features a variety of fiber art by guild members – all local artists and artisans who live along the North Shore and Thunder Bay. The selection of fiber works include weaving, knitting, felting, quilts, paper, beadwork, jewelry, baskets, wood carving, clothing, accessories, sculpture, wall hangings, rugs, gifts and other mixed media. Most of the art work will be for sale.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 26 from 5-7 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post gallery. This is the guild’s fourth exhibition and as in past years there will be plenty to ooh and aah about – from incredible fiber wonders to tasty hors d’oeuvres.

Guild president, Anne Hegg says, “We are excited about our upcoming show, ‘Through Our Hands IV.’ It is one of the many ways we are always sharing our love of fiber with each other and the wider community.” Everyone is welcome to this extraordinary exhibit. Guild artists will be present to demonstrate the skills of their craft during the four weekends of the show, including July 4.

The Johnson Heritage Post is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday and Monday from 1-4 pm.
