Starting today, seven restaurants in Thunder Bay’s Waterfront District will be offering specially priced prix fixe menus for the Northern Delights Culinary Celebration. The event runs from Feb. 16 – 27, and is presented by a collective of downtown north-side restaurants, suppliers, supporting businesses and Tourism Thunder Bay.

Prix Fixe menus highlighting the best of Thunder Bay’s culinary delights will be priced at $25 and/or $35, with $1 from each sale being donated to the local Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA). Participating restaurants are: Bight, Breakwater Taphouse, The Foundry, Portside (Prince Arthur Hotel), Red Lion Smokehouse, Sovereign Room and Tomlin. Prix Fixe menus from each restaurant are available on Facebook.

“Created with the same vision as Toronto’s popular Winterlicious, Northern Delights is a way to boost visitation into the downtown Entertainment District and the city during a typically soft business and travel season,” said Paul Pepe, manager of Tourism Thunder Bay. “This is a stellar example of local entrepreneurs collaborating to create an experience with the potential to draw people into a retail core, increase sales, as well as visitation to the city from near-by regional and U.S. markets. In recent years, the culinary scene in Thunder Bay has exploded and our city is quickly becoming a food destination.”
