Wiggins Productions will be teaming up with Pride Central, Lakehead University’s LGBTQ+ Student Centre to present the 3rd annual HoHoHo Xmas Drag Show, Saturday, December 13 at Black Pirates Pub.
The night will feature some of the city’s top drag performers coming together to celebrate holiday pride in a fun and safe environment. The night will feature the winning Wig Wars Queen and King, Portia and Will Ramya, along with seasoned performers like Paloma Marquez and Ivan Love. Representing the new generation of TBay drag will be Helen DezTroy, Sienna Diamonds, Dusty Vahjine, Mike Litoris, Allen Key, Lo-Leah and Samantha Brooke. Co-hosting the show will be Fanny J (aka John Forget) and the head of Pride Central, Tracy Pollard with DJ Fabulous Dave closing out the night with a holiday dance party.
Attendees are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items for the Lakehead University Student Union Food Bank. Each item brought in means one entry into a door prize draw for fabulous prize packs. The LUSU Food Bank is a volunteer run, not-for-profit student resource. LUSU has a modest budget for the purchase of food items, however each year the demand of their services increase and this is why they rely on donations from the community.
To help get the crowd into the holiday spirit, local makeup artist Ashley Meagher will be on site doing Xmas face and body painting. There will also be lots of prizes to be won in the Most Ridiculous Xmas Outfit Contest, the Xmas Wrap Off Contest, and the Audience Lip Sync Battle. Pride Central will be setting up the Elf’s Snack Bake Sale and selling delicious holiday treats. Money raised will go back into Pride Central to help fund programs for the centre.
