Now that it’s officially spring, and with summer looming on the horizon, it’s that time of year where we can start to allow ourselves to get excited about our summer plans, and for many people in the region, those plans include another exciting weekend at Country on the Bay. The festival will return to Fort William Historical Park for three days of music the weekend of July 19, and country music fans just got a whole lot more to look forward to with today’s announcement of this year’s lineup.

Up and coming Toronto-based country-pop singer songwriter Bree Taylor will kick off the weekend, and is set to be followed by the established Florida act Sawyer Brown, and Canada’s own country stars High Valley and Josh Ross.

On Saturday, Thunder Bay will be introduced to Saskatchewan’s Jake Vaadeland & the Sturgeon River Boys, who will take festival-goers back in time with their ‘50s rockabilly style. Day two will continue with the hits of Tyler Joe Miller, Sacha, and Petric, who will be accompanied by Catie St. Germain. Country music legend Trace Adkins is also set to perform a set of timeless tunes on day two. Saturday night promises to be one for the books, as the highly anticipated festival headliner and international country superstar Blake Shelton will bring his chart-topping hits to the TBay stage.

Mackenzie Porter, The Washboard Union, and Tebey will keep the momentum going as the festival enters its third day. Nashville-based singer-songwriter Griffin Palmer as well as the American Idol golden ticket winner Brayden King will also be gracing the mainstage on Sunday. The festival will close with a hard-hitting set played by Canadian singer Dallas Smith, who’s set to deliver an energetic rock ‘n roll show with a country flair to close out an unforgettable weekend.

The weekend’s festivities will be hosted by Canadian Country Music Hall of Famer Jason McCoy. Limited general admission weekend passes are still available for purchase at countryonthebay.ca.
