EcoSuperior is hoping to see more people cycling to Prince Arthur’s Landing to enjoy local talent every Wednesday at the Summer in the Parks concert series, by providing a Bike Valet parking service.

“People can avoid car parking problems and enjoy the fresh air by biking down to the park,” says program coordinator Montana Russo. “For just a toonie, you can drop your bike at the Bike Valet area, and we’ll keep it safe and sound while you enjoy the music.”

EcoSuperior’s Bike Valet is a new program which was launched just last year with support from TBayTel for Good. The portable rack system allows people to drop off their bike like a coat check system. A ticket and ID is required to pick up the bike when the cyclist is ready to leave.

“The bike valet service will allow attendees to experience Summer in the Parks with great comfort knowing that their bicycles are parked securely,” adds Russo.

The goal is to encourage more people to choose cycling as a means of transportation and to help alleviate traffic concerns for the many summer festivals in town. Currently, the Bike Valet service will be offered each week at Summer in the Parks and is available on request for other events.

The user fee of $2 per bike or $5 per family will help support this and other programs offered by EcoSuperior.
