Musicians have been creating a buzz at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais for a great cause since 2001. The annual, family-friendly event Unplugged XIV and Fundraiser takes place Stage Thursday, September 17 – Saturday, September 19, 2015. The event will include over 12 nationally and internationally recognized performers including two concerts with NPR’s Mountain Stage Radio Show, local brewery tastings and a Folk Artisan Market. Top performers include: Haley Bonar, John Mark Nelson, Charlie Parr, Don Henry, Jon Vezner, Serena Ryder and Ron Sexsmith and more.

Music at Unplugged 

The North House has a great lineup for all three nights of music. Thursday and Friday feature NPR’s famed Mountain Stage Radio show, and Saturday is the classic songwriters in the round performance with Jon Vezner and other artists.

Backstage Bash Fundraising Event, 5-7 pm

This intimate fundraising reception will feature heavy appetizers by internationally-acclaimed Chef  Scott Graden of New Scenic Café paired with Minnesota’s own Fulton Beer and Voyageur Brewing. Mingle with musicians, and learn more about North House and the community making it thrive. Cost is $85 per person.

About the Founder and Creator of Unplugged

Minnesota native Jon Vezner is founder and creator of the singer/songwriters event known as Unplugged. Vezner is a successful musician and won a Grammy in 1990 for “Best Country Song”. “Where’ve You Been” is the true story of Vezner’s grandparents, co-written with Don Henry, and recorded by Kathy Mattea. Vezner’s songwriting has been picked-up by some of big country artists, such as Martina McBride, John Mellencamp, Faith Hill, Clay Walker and Diamond Rio.
