June signals the summer solstice and National Indigenous History Month. Locally, there are activities from the 14th to 28th, like the Waniskahtan exhibit—a project to educate and create a greater awareness about the high rates of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and 2-Spirit (LGBTQ2S). Organizers hope the exhibit will be able to be viewed publicly in person at Intercity Shopping Centre.
