The line-up for the 2012 Superior Youth Festival, taking place on Aug. 22 from 6 pm to 10 pm, has been confirmed. Started in 2007, the Superior Youth Festival was created as a support for youth music, art and culture by featuring local and regional musical acts, as well as headlining performances by national touring artists.

This year’s line-up includes:

6 pm Nick Sherman (Folk/Rock)
6:35 pm Xander John Scott (Indie/Pop)
7:10 pm Vega (Pop/Rock)
7:45 pm Maraday Park (Pop/Rock)
8:20 pm Said The Whale (Indie/Rock) – from Vancouver, BC
9:20 pm Rich Aucoin (Electro/Pop) – from Halifax, NS

“The Festival is now in its 6th year and we are very excited to host this youth-centred event,” said Jean-Paul De Roover, Summer Festivals & Events Coordinator. “It’s important to have a festival that reflects the interests of our young population, and we’re very happy to have watched it develop and grow from 500 people in 2007 to 4,500 last year.”

The Festival will also offer different booths and activities from over 25 community groups, a Youth Zone area with laser tag and inflatables, the Outlet Powered area, zombie make-up and facepainting, free draws, a variety of on-site concessions, an artisan market, and much more.

There will be no general parking around the festival area but limited accessible parking will be available inside the park with a valid permit.

The festival takes place at Marina Park on the Main Stage and admission is free for all ages.
