Lakehead University Visual Arts students in their 4th year are required to do internship placement in an arts related field. Students choose a placement in an education setting, a gallery or arts related business. This course was created to provide students with the opportunity to put theory into practise: to obtain University credit for volunteer employment in an arts-related field.
As part of her internship placement forth Year Lakehead University Visual Arts student Kristen Wall has curated an art exhibition titled “Bringing in the Spring.” This very diverse display of 24 local artists work showcases just how varied our creative community is. On display at the Painted Turtle Art Studio Gallery on the lower level of 33 South Cumberland St. from March 22nd to April 22nd with an opening reception April 4th from 11am to 2pm.

“I chose to intern at the Painted Turtle because I wanted to learn the ins and outs of a small business in the art community including meeting supplier demand, becoming a part of the community and curating a small exhibit featuring local artists so that one day I to could run a successful and loved business such as the Painted Turtle.” -Kristen Wall
