Let Definitely Superior Art Gallery inspire your creativity! See intriguing animated short films and painting installations by three innovative and award-winning national/international artists—now showing until March 14th.
Panorama/Corrupted Animals – Dagmara Genda – (Toronto/originally from Poland/raised in Thunder Bay)
An immersive and chaotic nature infused exhibition, comprised of architectural installation, drawing and collage that addresses clichés of the Canadian landscape.
Microgeographica – Carly Waito – (Toronto/originally from Thunder Bay)
Detail-rich oil paintings, graphite illustrations and a projected video work, showcasing Waito’s series exploring the unique beauty of precious mineral specimens.
Short Animated Films – Julia Pott – (Brooklyn, NY/originally from London, UK)
A staple of film festivals, Pott’s films use strange imagined animal-like characters, rendered in her disarming/inventive illustration style. Her stories are an often funny and sometimes painful search for something intimate and real.
DefSup is located on the lower level at 250 Park Avenue; open Tuesday-Saturday, 12-6 pm. All ages are welcome, admission is by donation. For more information on these art shows click here.
