Review and Photos by Georgia Ruberto (Age 11)

This incredible play Elf The Musical Jr., took place at Hammarskjold High School on December 10 and 11. The play was based on a hilarious movie and was put on by the grade 11 and 12 drama classes.

The story was about a human “elf” named Buddy whose adventure was finding his father, Walter Hobbs, who lived in New York City. On his adventure to find his father, Buddy met a wonderful woman named Jovie and built a strong and loving relationship with her. He was bound to make her Christmas dreams come true.

During the time spent with his father, Buddy soon found out that he did not accept who Buddy was. In the end, Buddy was determined to convince everybody to believe in Santa Claus and the spirit of Christmas.

I thought this play was very well put together; the students put a lot of hard work and effort to make it come to life. Congratulations to musical director Sharon De Leon, and the amazingly talented cast and crew for making this production a success.
