April is here, days are getting longer, and the earth is warming up. It’s the perfect time to think about growing your own food. Gardening can be simple. From growing things in containers, to small yard plots, you can reap the benefits of your own produce and the joy that comes from doing it yourself.

Come out to the free ‘Grow Your Own Food’ workshop, part of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s Healthy Together speaker series. Erin Beagle, Roots to Harvest Project Coordinator, and Kim McGibbon, Dietitian with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, will talk about the health benefits of growing your own food, share recipes and food samples, teach you how you can start gardening on a small scale, and encourage you to get your hands dirty with a simple planting that you can take home! Sharing, discussion, and questions always encouraged.
