On January 9, 2012, Thunder Bay lost one of its well-known artists with the passing of Alana Syrjanen. Alana’s range of artistic talent had no boundaries—some of her favourite subjects were crows, flowers, dried and found objects. She used poetry and quotes to enhance her art.
To honour Alana, her friends and fellow artists have set up a display of her work, taken from their private collections, at Fireweed on Algoma Street. The display runs from January 14 – 26. The public is invited to come and see the works of this outstanding artist.
