The Vox Popular Media Arts Festival will be screening Where the Poppies Grow, a film by Ron Harpelle and Kelly Saxberg about the participation of the Lakehead in WWI. The event starts at 12 noon and runs until 4 pm with a total of four screenings on the half hour. The film runs 30 minutes, so people can also visit the Thunder Bay Military Museum while they wait. Jane And The Wolf, a powerful indigenous film, will be shown Tuesday, November 20 at 7 PM. at Lakehead Unitarian Fellowship, 129 S. Algoma. Written by Rachel Garrick and directed by Nadine Arpin, this true family fable about Rachel’s great-grandmother brings together family history, indigenous tradition, and the healing power of storytelling.
