If I Could Fly Like A Raven; A Birds-eye Portrait of Ontario’s Far North
- Join Gerry Racey, retired OMNRF, as he takes you on an aerial pictorial tour of Ontario’s Far North from the Hudson Bay Coast to the conifer forests of the boreal shield and the peatlands of the James Bay Lowlands. This is a landscape few of us will get to experience for ourselves. It is a land of beauty and a land of resources. It is the ancestral home of indigenous peoples. Thought provoking images provide an opportunity to discuss implications of an uncertain future, and better .appreciate historical context. Throughout will be an exploration of ecological features, processes and functions. There will be an attempt to briefly identify and place contemporary issues in context. Indoor Lectures
Thunder Bay Field Naturalists meet on the fourth Monday of September, October, November, January, March and April at Lunan Hall, St. Paul’s United Church, 349 Waverley Street, Thunder Bay. Take the sidewalk to the left of the main church entrance.
Please note that meetings begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. so that we will finish early enough to have time to socialize over tea and coffee after the presentation.
Non-members are welcome and is a free event.
