Living Well with Dementia: Creating Dialogues of Resilience – 2023 Conference

Dates & Locations:
Sunday October 15th – Dementia Cafe (inside the Urban Abbey) 308 Red River Rd, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 1B1
Monday October 16th – Best Western Plus Nor’Wester Hotel 2080 Hwy 61, Thunder Bay, ON P7J 1B8

Join people living with dementia and care partners to share and learn about: living with resilience amidst dementia, challenging stigma, & connecting with others. On Sunday October 15th, we will host a special Dementia Cafe to highlight this special community program, followed by a brief presentation and dinner. Monday October 16th will be the conference day at the Nor’Wester Hotel, featuring keynote speeches from Myrna Norman (an advocate & person living with dementia from British Columbia) and Rebekah Churchyard (owner of Green Care Farms in Milton, Ontario). There will also be opportunities to browse vendor booths and learn from available health services in our community. This conference is community based, being run for and by people living with dementia and care partners. 

Target Audience

  • People living with dementia (no diagnosis necessary)
  • Care partners and family members
  • Health care professionals working directly with people living with dementia (limited spots available)

Vendor booth opportunities are also available.
