To help kick-off Cook County PRIDE Month, Drury Lane Books is hosting an LGBTQ literary slam bonfire and celebration of PRIDE Community. From Stonewall to Baldwin to Steinem, people are invited to bring their favorite book passage, literary monologue, or poem written by a favorite LGBTQ writer or artist to read by the bonfire. You are also welcome to read a passage from an original song, poem or story that you wrote about freedom of expression or equality. Bring homemade mead, cider and cookies to share, or just a good story to tell. Friends/Musicians Abby Zak, Willow Waters and Zack Baltich will play live together around the bonfire from 6:00pm-7:30pm.
Come on out to celebrate kindness, empathy and compassion.
*Free! Tourists, travelers, community members, families, all ages and friends all welcome! *The store will be open late for browsing and sales on this evening.
