An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, repeating until November 30, 2021
elemental unravelling, the very first juried art exhibit by Mindful Makers Collective, is showing at the Baggage Building Arts Centre this November, 2021. Juried by Meaghan Eley, Erica Radford, and Sam Shahsahabi, and curated by Stacey Hare Hodgins, this multidisciplinary exhibit celebrates the work of 16 artists and makers who are members of the Collective.
Mindful Makers creates dedicated space for artists and makers with extraordinary minds to make and exhibit work, exchange and advance artistic and social skills, and expand our professional networks. The Collective was founded in 2018 with support from Workman Arts Scaling Project, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and our local partners Thunder Bay Art Gallery and Alpha Court Community Mental Health & Addiction Services. Through collaboration and public presentations of our work, we counteract the stigma and social isolation associated with mental health and addiction experiences in Thunder Bay.
elemental unravelling will run from November 2nd through 30th, 2021 with admission by pay-what-you-wish donation. A celebration will be held on November 25th to launch the sale of a print publication featuring the works of exhibiting artists. An online presentation will also be hosted on our website for three months!
This exhibition is organized by founding Creative Director, Caroline Kajorinne Krievin. Mindful Makers Collective gratefully acknowledges the funding from the Ontario Arts Council that made it possible.
