On Friday, April 19, Wiggins Pro-Ductions will be hosting the Double Rainbow Dance Party & Fundraiser, at Black Pirates Pub. The party will feature performances by four local DJs— Jaqi Iraqi, Fabulous Dave, Miss Temperance, and Mr. Kwazi.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to local artist Janna Zachary of Artsy Owl Studios. Roughly six years ago, Janna was diagnosed with avascular necrosis, a condition caused by a lack of blood flow in the talus bone in her ankle. Over the last few years, the pain has become so severe that she now relies on crutches to avoid the risk of bone collapse in her ankle. Doctors in Thunder Bay and Toronto have not been able to help Janna; however, a doctor in Chicago has developed a procedure that has proven successful with other patients. Unfortunately, the cost is $50,000 and is not covered by Ontario’s health insurance. The Double Rainbow Dance Party will help this young woman get back on her feet and enjoy life without the aid of crutches.
Doors open at 10 pm with a cover of $5. Age of majority is required.
