mantra, it’s no surprise that this non-
profit took first place in this category.
Using food as a tool to equip youth
with life skills, Roots to Harvest is seen
throughout the city: at its garden on
Cornwall and Algoma streets, selling
food at market stands, and in high
school cafeterias. “[We’re] about good
things that everyone can relate to—
young people, food, land, sustainability,
resiliency,” says program coordinator Erin
