2011 Thunder Bay Marathon – Miles with the Giant

Over 700 runners and walkers (of which 2/3 were women!) participated in the second annual Thunder Bay Marathon – Miles with the Giant held Sunday morning in Thunder Bay. The race included a ten-kilometre, 1/2 marathon and full marathon run, walk and wheelchair race. Running conditions were ideal, despite cloudy skies, as the air temperature was moderate and the rain held off for the first two hours of the race.

Hundreds of enthusiastic spectators lined the course—a scenic route through Port Arthur, with views of Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant.
