Everyone is invited to the first annual WinterFest at Prince Arthur’s Landing on February 18th. WinterFest will feature Thunder Bay’s first Snow Sculpture Symposium with four teams of local artists producing magical snow sculptures. Once you’ve been inspired by the pros, try your hand at carving on some smaller snow sculpture forms. No experience needed – the talented WillowSprings Creative Centre staff will be on site with advice and tools to try.
A whole range of winter activities will keep the family entertained outside at the waterfront- skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, skijoring, kicksledding, dogsledding and local entertainment. For those who want to stay warm and toasty inside, the Baggage Building Arts Centre will be hosting a Family Day Arts Extravaganza including arts & crafts, fashion shows and performances.
Don’t miss the Static Family Day Jib Jam (aka, snowboarding) at the snow-covered Skate Park, and make sure you stay right until 8pm to see the winter sky light up with a spectacular
fireworks show.
Food concessions and limited parking available onsite.
